Pet therapy…

I’m sure most of you know the benefits of owning a pet. Pets can really have a huge impact on your mental health. I love animals, so every time I’m around them it really just makes me feel good. I have and dog and I’ve had him for over 11 years. He is like the child I will never be able to have. I couldn’t imagine what my life would have been like without him. When I’m sad-he knows, when I’m mad-he definitely knows, when I’m manic-he knows… He can read me like a book. Neither one of us are very affectionate but he always knows when a good cuddle session is needed. When I am mad, he literally comes and sits in front of me with his huge puppy dog eyes and sometimes it makes my anger instantly go away. I know some people are not animal lovers, and they couldn’t imagine a cat or dog in their house… my dad use to be one of those people. He wasn’t an animal person until he bought his wife a boxer and then he absolutely fell in love with him. That experience changed his view about all animals. That dog truly changed his life. It has made my dad a better person. His mood completely changes when he is around his dogs. He plans to rescue dogs when he retires. With that being said… It shows that falling in love with animals is so easy. They are so full of love and life. They will make your world a better place. If you have ever thought about owning a pet… I encourage you to at least visit your local animal shelter and see how you feel. You might even leave with a loving companion. It might be exactly what is missing in your life.
